My name’s Ben and I’m the proud founder of Thrifty Points.
I guess you’re here because you want to know a bit about me. Correct? Whilst I’m far more comfortable writing about all things points related, I’ll give it my best shot!
I’m your average, run-of-the-mill Joe with a passion for all things travel. My whistle-stop points adventure started some 10 years ago when I accidentally fell into the wonderful world of air miles. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been travelling the world for next to nothing ever since…
The picture above is from a recent First Class Emirates flight (full review here). No I’m not one of those trust-fund kids – this flight actually cost less than an economy ticket! This quite nicely leads me on to the origins of Thrifty Points.
Over the last 10 years, I’ve managed to accumulate a crazy number of air miles as well as an ever-growing list of travel hacking tips and hints to enable these miles to take me further.
Thrifty Points was originally set up to share these tips and hints with close family and friends, with the website evolving from its humble origins to what I hope is a wealth of knowledge allowing everyone far and wide to travel further… for less.
What else should I say? As my (long suffering) other half will tell you, I’m both a perfectionist and a workaholic. I juggle Thrifty Points alongside a full-time job as a hotel consultant which, in addition to Thrifty Points, takes me to the 4 corners of the world.
Venturing Forwards Together
It means the world to me if you’ve read all this.
My one aim is that the articles we publish here at Thrifty Points will genuinely save you money on your international travels. I hope this website will enable those who may not have experienced the wonders of Business Class and First Class travel to do so for less than the price of an economy ticket! For frequent flyers there should be some useful tips and suggestions, which I hope will keep you coming back again and again.
I promise to keep Thrifty Points stocked with the latest tips and tricks for as long as people are kind enough to read. Should you find it easier to catch up with everything that’s going on at Thrifty Points by email, please do sign up to our weekly newsletter.
Be it small or large, please feel to reach out to me at Ben (at) ThriftyPoints.com. We love hearing about your experiences and are always happy to lend a helping hand if you have any points-related queries.
