Introduction to Amazon to eBay Dropshipping
Wow – It’s been 12 months since I started my Amazon to eBay Dropshipping career and what a whirlwind adventure it has been. I can guarantee you now that this is not a get rich scheme or is it a passive income generator, however if you’re looking for a secondary source of income then read on to find out about Dropshipping Amazon to eBay Software.
Like every new business venture, you’ll need to put in a whole load of hard work to seriously get your Amazon to eBay dropshipping business off to a flying start!
For those of you that are new to the concept of Amazon to eBay dropshipping, let me start of by telling you how I stumbled across the opportunity, the many things I’ve learnt and some helpful tips to maximise your returns dropshipping from amazon to ebay.
It was in the lead up to Christmas when I purchased an item on eBay, this watch to be precise. When I received the parcel I noticed that there was a small Amazon logo on box – this wasn’t particularly unusual as I use Amazons Warehousing and Distributions services for a business I run so assumed they had just done something similar.
It was a couple of days later that I thought I’d just check to see how much the item was selling for on Amazon and noticed that Amazon was over 20% cheaper. With further investigation I noticed that the seller had somewhere in the region of 50,000 items for sale – all of which were significantly cheaper on Amazon.
It was at this point I stumbled across Amazon to eBay dropshipping and haven’t really looked back since.
Let's break this post down...
Why does Amazon to eBay Dropshipping Work?
There’s a strange psychology with eBay users (me included!) who are of the opinion that for items under say $100, eBay has got to be the cheapest place to purchase. As we can see from the below example this truly isn’t correct.
- Amazon logitech speakers available at £22.48 (click here)
- eBay logitech speakers (click here) sold for £27.20 today
It was at this point that I released if I was able to source items from Amazon which were selling for over 20% more on eBay there was an opportunity for easy arbitrage to be undertaken.
My first attempt at Dropshipping from Amazon to eBay
I work as an analyst / consultant and have developed some average excel skills over my career. With limited reviews on Amazon to eBay dropshipping, I initially set out to develop my own program to monitor and update pricing between items I’d manually found from other Amazon to eBay dropshippers.
Having spent a weekend creating the bespoke model, I ended up with what was quite a clunky program, it was at this point that I realised that others buying items from Amazon and selling on eBay would have access to sophisticated platforms to juggle something like 50,000 items.
I then spent the next two weeks undertaking extensive research into the following Amazon to eBay dropship software providers:
- Profit Scraper: One of the most established of the Amazon Scraper software platforms. Unfortunately now has a considerable waiting listing – however click here to see if this has decreased.
- Pricematik: I’ve recently converted from Profit Scraper to Pricematik. The platforms are almost identical however Pricematik is cheaper if you’re selling over 2,500 items. Click here for a free 2 week trial.
- Profit Spy: Offers a limited service product for full services prices.
- PriceYak: Amazon to eBay dropshipping is a small part of PriceYaks business and as such relatively undeveloped. Better for undertaking Amazon to Shopify dropshipping.
- Hydra Lister and SKU Grid: The combined package of the two products offers a number of source markets however lacks key features required for efficient Amazon to eBay Dropshipping. Click here for a free trial to Hydra Lister and here for a free trial to SKU Grid.
- Aura Profit Hunter: Very basic product for a high price!
I finally settled on Profit Scraper and what a choice that was. Profit Scraper helped leap frog my Dropshipping from Amazon to eBay business to over 2,500 items and weekly profits in the region of $200. As I mentioned in the intro to this post, Amazon to eBay dropshipping is definitely not a get rich scheme but will make you a reasonable side income.
Why use Amazon to eBay dropshipping Software?
If you are serious about setting out on an Amazon to eBay dropshipping career, you’ll realise that it’s a business of high turnover and low margins. In order to competently manage the 1,000s of items you’ll be listing on eBay, using a form of software to source items, monitor and update pricing and even automatically order items is vital. You’ll be amazed at how often prices change on Amazon or items go out of stock.
What Dropshipping Amazon to Ebay Software?
You’ll quickly find that there are two types of products on the market. The first is a fully automated platform which will source profit arbitrage opportunities, automatically load these to eBay, monitor pricing and even order the products on your behalf. The second type of software is a limited service product which usually scrapes already identified opportunities and lists (sometimes monitoring but unlikely) these items to eBay.
Below I set out a brief overview of each of the available platforms. I’ve personally tested each of these products so do click through and read the full reviews. Please also leave a comment if you think I’ve missed any products and I’ll do my best to review as soon as possible.
Fully Automated Amazon to eBay Dropshipping Software
Profit Scraper – FREE 7 DAY TRIAL – 5 Stars
I began my drop shipping career with Profit Scraper and haven’t looked back since. The product offers a one stop shop for all you Amazon to eBay dropshipping requirements Note that during 2017 Profit Scraper had closed it applications for new members (due to popular demand). Membership has recently reopened however I suspect it wont be long to this closes. As such I’d strongly recommend signing up to a free 7 trial as soon as possible using this link.
Pros
- Lower minimum monthly subscription of $67 per month
- Automatic Ordering and price monitoring
- Great customer service
- Easy to use platform
Cons
- Currently closed to new members
Price – 1000 items: $0.10 per item per month

Pricematik – FREE 14 DAY TRIAL – 4 stars
I’ve spent some considerable time testing the Pricematik product when Profit Scraper had closed its membership. The software is clean and straight forward to use, with resaonable reliability at a cost which once you list over 2,500 items begins to become every attractive.
Pros
- Automatic Ordering
- Scrape items straight from eBay
- Cost effective
- Easy to use
Cons
- Item repricing every 6 hours
Price – 1000 items: $0.10 per item per month
Limited Service Software
PriceYak – 3 Stars
Of all of the limited Amazon scraper software providers, PriceYak is by far the best in my opinion. As I discuss in my full review of the software, I currently use PriceYak to dropship products on Shopify from Amazon. The only two things that excludes the software from the fully automated section of this review is that products have to be uploaded by Amazon ASINs and cannot be scraped directly. The second is that the platform does not automatically add customer addresses to Amazon Prime. Whilst the process of adding addresses sounds minimal, when you’re selling 50 products a day this would take a considerable amount of time.
Pros
- Able to scrape products from more than one source market
- Auto repricing and stock monitoring
- Good customer service
- Functional platform
Cons
- More expensive per item than the full service products
- No ability to locate new arbitrage opportunities
Price – 1000 items: $0.15 per item per month
Hydra Lister and SKU Grid – HYDRA FREE TRIAL / SKU FREE TRIAL – 3 Stars
Combined, the Hydra Lister and SKU Grid platforms provide a product which is capable of scraping items from Amazon, listing these directly to Amazon and then monitoring pricing going forwards. The software unfortunately doesn’t include automatic ordering or address inputting functions. The cost for Hydra Lister is $69 per month for unlimited listings which needs to be purchased in addition to credits for SKU. If you plan on updating pricing every two hours (same as Profit Scraper) the cost per item is $0.13 which compares to $0.10 for Pricematik and Profit Scraper.
Pros
- Products dovetail together well
- Automatic Price and Stock monitoring
- Aesthetically appealing platforms
Cons
- Working across two platforms adds a layer of complexity
- More expensive per item than the full service products
- No ability to locate new arbitrage opportunities
Price – 1000 items: $0.13 per item per month

Profit Spy – 2 Stars
Profit Spy is essentially a tool to extract data from Amazon to create eBay listings. The data cannot be directly uploaded to Amazon and as such you’ll need to use the services of a third party provider. The software will show where pricing has been adjusted on Amazon however you’ll need to manually update this within your eBay account. Limited, if any, additional services are offered. With a price tag of $67 per month, this is in line with Profit Scrapers entry level product.
Pros
- Extract data from Amazon and highlight price changes
Cons
- Expensive
- No price monitoring or stock management
- No free trial offered (suspicious)
- Cannot directly load items directly to eBay
Price – 1000 items: $0.13 per item per month
Aura Profit Hunter – 1 Star
With a basic interface and limited functionality I’m afraid I’ve had to give Aura Profit Hunter one star. Whilst Aura Profit Hunter can extract data from Amazon (similar to Profit Spy) it provides no additional services. At $197 it’s also very expensive for an Amazon Scraper software.
Pros
- Extract data from Amazon
Cons
- Expensive
- No ability to locate new arbitrage opportunities
- No form of price monitoring
- Third party software required to upload to eBay
Price – One off cost of $197

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Drop Shipping from Amazon to eBay legal?
The art of retail arbitrage goes back thousands of years. For those who are new to the expression ‘retail arbitrage’, this is where you buy an item and then sell it on for a higher price. As such you are making an arbitrage from the buy / sell prices.
Let’s venture back in time to the Silk Road to look at a historic ‘retail arbitrage’. The Silk Road began over 2,000 years ago with the likes of silk, cotton, glass, salt etc traded between merchants who would seek to by items in the east and sell them for a higher price in the west.
Fast forwards 2,000 years we are still undertaking the same trades today however now the internet has opened up thousands of portals where we can all trade items. The concept of buying from one portal (in this case Amazon) and selling on another portal (in this case eBay) mirrors the Silk Road traders and an incomprehensible number of trades undertake since.
The act of buying an item and selling it on for a higher price, is by no means illegal and in fact is the cornerstone of our economy.
