It’s been a while since we last reviewed the Yonder Credit Card here at Thrifty Points. In that time, quite a lot has changed, not just in my own household (we’ve added two kids, a mischievous dog, and traded London life for the countryside), but also at Yonder headquarters.
When Yonder first launched, it had a clear London-centric focus, offering highly localised rewards that excluded a significant chunk of the UK. Fast-forward to today, and it’s evolved into a far more inclusive rewards card with nationwide appeal, and is now a serious challenger to the likes of Amex and Chase. So, what’s new, and is Yonder worth your attention in 2025? Let’s take a closer look.

Two Membership Options: Free vs Full
One of the most significant updates since our original review is the introduction of a free version of the Yonder card, which now sits alongside the premium (£15/month) membership. This has made Yonder more accessible, giving users a choice depending on their spending habits and priorities.
Here’s a side-by-side comparison:
| Feature | Free Card | Full Membership (£15/mo) |
| Monthly Fee | £0 | £15 |
| Welcome Bonus | Up to 1,000 points | Up to 10,000 points (worth up to £50) plus one month free |
| Earn Rate (everyday spend) | 1 pt per £1 | 5 pts per £1 |
| Earn Rate at Partner Locations | Up to 5 pts per £1 | Up to 25 pts per £1 |
| Cashback Rate | – | 0.5% |
| Use Points on Flights | No | Yes |
| Use Points on Experiences | Limited | Full Access |
| Worldwide Travel Insurance | No | Yes |
| No Foreign Exchange Fees | Yes | Yes |
| Fee-Free ATM Withdrawals Abroad | No | Yes (with a maximum of £150/day per day which can be spread across 3 transactions and capped at £600 per week) |
If you’re after a no-fee card with light perks and the odd restaurant reward, the Free card does a good job. But for frequent spenders, especially those who travel, dine out, or want access to flexible rewards, the Full Membership easily pays for itself. More on that below…
Yonder Points – How They Work
Yonder operates on a points-based rewards system, much like Amex, but with two key differences: points are easy to redeem, and there are genuinely high-value options. Here’s how it breaks down:
1. Redeem Points for Experiences (Up to 2.5% Cashback)
Yonder curates 15–20 Experiences each month, including restaurants, attractions, wellness, and cultural events, available in cities like London, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham and Bath. Some examples from recent months include Pasta Evangelists, Hamilton (the West End show), and Speedboat Bar.
For full members, you earn 5 points for every £1 spend, and can earn up to 2.5% back when you redeem your points at one of our curated Yonder Experiences. Note that actual value varies by reward and how you redeem, as displayed in the app.
So, a £100 restaurant bill could cost you just 4,000 points. You simply pay with your Yonder card and the app will prompt you to redeem points after the transaction (up to a fair use limit, which depends on the reward). This means no vouchers, no codes, no drama.
2. Cash Redemption – 0.5% Back
If you’re not in an Experience city or prefer cold, hard savings, you can redeem points as a credit against your card balance at a fixed rate of 0.1p per point — equating to 0.5% cashback when earning 5 pts per £1.
This isn’t groundbreaking compared to American Express, but it’s a solid base rate, especially for a Mastercard with no FX fees.

YonderFlights – Use Points on Any Airline
One of the most exciting new features for full members is YonderFlights.
You can now use your points to book any flight with any airline, without being restricted by availability calendars or transfer partners. Simply book your flight as usual using your Yonder card, and redeem points afterward at a rate of 31,250 pts = £50, giving you an effective redemption rate of 0.625%.
This is a massive upgrade over many traditional rewards cards, which limit flight redemptions to select carriers or portals.
Travel Benefits – Built for Explorers
For anyone who travels, the Yonder Card comes with perks that rival more established premium cards.
Key Travel Perks on the Full Card:
- Worldwide Travel Insurance: Cover includes up to £1m for emergency medical, £7,500 for cancellations, £1,000 for baggage, and £500,000 for personal liability. Cover subject to booking with your Yonder card, eligibility and exclusions.
- Winter Sports Cover: Ski hire, piste closures, and ski pack coverage up to £500. Or
- Rental Car Excess Waiver: Up to £3,000 in coverage.
- No Foreign Exchange Fees: Spend abroad without penalty (Free and Full plans).
- Fee-Free ATM Withdrawals Abroad: Withdraw up to £150/day without charges (Full plan).
In short, if you’re planning a ski holiday, city break, or summer escape, the travel perks alone could justify the £15/month fee.

Sign-Up Bonus – 10,000 Points for Full Members
New full members get up to 10,000 points (worth £50 as cash, or up to £250 at Experiences), when you spend between £200 and £1,000 in first 30 days. That’s effectively over three months’ membership covered right out of the gate.
Better still, your first month is free, giving you the chance to test the full membership before committing.
Yonder have recently introduced a modest sign up bonus on the free card, with up to 1,000 points when you spend between £200 and £1,000 in the first 30 days.
Partner Offers – Earn More, Everywhere
In addition to earning 5 points per £1 on all purchases, you’ll earn up to 25 points per £1 at select partners (rotated monthly), effectively earning up to 12.5% back when redeemed at full value.
Nationwide Appeal – Beyond London
When Yonder launched, its experience list was heavily London-centric. That’s no longer the case. You’ll now find curated rewards in Manchester, Bristol, Bath, and Birmingham, with plans to expand further.
And importantly, travel and flight rewards are available nationwide, meaning the card is now far more relevant to users across the UK.
Who Is Yonder Right For?
Ideal for:
- Foodies in London, Bristol, Manchester, Bath or Birmingham
- Frequent travellers (thanks to insurance, no FX fees, flight redemptions)
- Cashback lovers who want a flexible card accepted everywhere Mastercard is
Less ideal for:
- People who don’t spend enough to justify £15/month
Final Verdict – Is Yonder Worth It?
The Yonder Credit Card has gone from niche curiosity to genuine all-rounder. With flexible redemptions, nationwide appeal, and valuable travel perks, it’s now one of the best rewards cards available in the UK, especially for younger professionals, food-lovers, and digital nomads.
The premium card won’t suit everyone, but if you spend more than £1,000/month and travel even a couple of times a year, the benefits will likely outweigh the cost. And with a month’s trial and welcome bonus on offer, there’s little downside to trying it.
